| EBA General Membership Meeting: Innovations in Banking Sector 22 December 2009  The meeting was held at Azov conference hall of Donbass Palace Hotel with the sponsorship of Bank Familny and OTP Bank.Mr Mykola Volkov, First Deputy Head of Donetsk City Council marked out the necessity of new technologies’ implementation in banking sector. Using the system of household running costs payments by credit card, terminal or internet will allow people to simplify this procedure and particular companies to guarantee timely receipt of funds. To achieve this goal a comprehensive discussion of issues and prospects for innovative solutions and joint efforts is required. Head of Innovation Development Administration of the Donetsk OSA Andriy Anisimov told that innovations in the banking sector is one of the main factors of its competitiveness. Positive trends in banking development were also defined by the Head of Banking Supervision Department of NBU in Donetsk Oblast Igor Sorkin. Bank Familny and OTP Bank offer innovation programs FlashCheque and OTPdirect that allow people to make quick payments for household running, mobile communication, clear credit card debts, make money transfers through payment terminals or internet. These programs are simple, convinient, safe and time efficient. After the official part of the meeting participants were invited to discuss all the nuances of the new programs in informal atmosphere of reception at Donbass Palace Hotel. |
In spite of the crisis, regulative capital of banks increased on 214 million UAH, however the quality of credit portfolios is doubtful. NBU is working out measures to save the banks liquidity and renew the valid credit system. |

| EBA New Year Party 23 December 2009  The party was held at French Boulevard Trade and Entertainment Centre. The Chairman of the EBA Kharkiv Branch Board Igor Sbitnev greeted participants noted that New Year is the time to summarize and discover new horizons, make wishes and expect a miracle; for us the current celebration also marked the fifth anniversary of the activity of the European Business Association in Kharkiv region. Mr Sbitnev expressed sincere congratulations on the both occasions, wishing the business and personal success to those present.During the winter evening participants dipped into the magical world of entertainment and pleasure. Warm words from Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, master class on roller skates, competition on table football, mini tournament on Russian Billiards gave the distinguished guests an opportunity to enjoy the enchanting atmosphere of approaching of the holiday favorite since childhood. The culmination of the party was business cards lottery with wonderful prizes donated by the following companies: Aurora Premier Hotel, Axioma, Nestandartna Reclama, Trialia and OTP Bank. | Evening School: Doing Business in English 23 December 2009 On Wednesday, 23 December, the last lesson of English for Telephoning Course was held. During three months a group formed from the staff of EBA member companies has been working on weekly basis. Due to the lessons participants have learned the basics and strategies for telephone conversation, as well as typical phrases and expressions that would make telephoning in English successfully and with confidence. In conclusion the most active participants received certificates.
EBA New Year Party for Kids 25 December 2009 To start celebrating the upcoming New Year and Christmas, the EBA Southern Branch decided to surprise it’s members and their small children and arranged a fabulous New Year Party. Role players, dressed up like heroes of different Fairy Tales were eager to entertain the kids with jokes, charades and games. Cherishing good old traditions, the children sang and danced around the Christmas tree. Parents could also feel the marvelous atmosphere of the upcoming holidays and enjoyed wonderful poetry of a brilliant author from Odesa Galina Virt.
