| The EBA Annual General Membership Meeting (AGMM) will take place on Thursday, 26 November 2009, at 17:00 (the Ball Room, InterContinental Hotel, 2A Vel.Zhytomirska street in Kyiv). To see the provisional agenda for the meeting please click here. You are kindly invited to attend the AGMM and vote for 7 new EBA Board members who will replace those elected in 2008 for two years.  EBA Leadership presented by Anna Derevyanko, EBA Executive Director and Olga Valchuk, EBA Deputy Director attended the meeting with European Business Organisations that took place on 11-13 November 2009 in Brussels, Belgium. |
Key issues to discuss on the agenda of the meeting were: • Aspects of the Small Business Act and the creation of Business Support Centers • EBO Relationship with EU Delegations • Future EBO projects on a regional/global level • Reporting to European Commission A part from that EBA representatives had a number of other meetings, discussing the promotion of Ukraine’s image as an investment destination and a reliable business partner. |

| 16 November 2009 EBA Intellectual Property Committee  At the meeting candidates for the position of the EBA Intellectual Property Committee Chair had an opportunity to introduce themselves. Also activities of the Committee during this year were summarised. Attendees lively debated certain organisational points of Committee activity and started discussing its priorities for the next year.17 November 2009 Joint meeting of the Registration Subcommittee and Clinical Trials Subcommittee of the EBA Health Care Committee  On 17 November 2009 the joint meeting of the Registration Subcommittee and Clinical Trials Subcommittee of the Health Care Committee was held in the Hotel Vozdvyzhensky in Kyiv. This meeting was dedicated to the discussion of the system of pharmacovigilance in Ukraine.The representatives of the State Pharmacological Centre of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Mrs Matvyeva, Head of the Division of the post-registration control, Mr Viktorov, Expert of the Division of the post-registration control, Mrs Yefimzeva, Director of the Department on clinical and preclinical trials took part in this meeting. During the first part of the meeting Mrs Matveyeva and Mr Viktorov made presentations dedicated to the pharmacovigilance on the stage of the post-registration control. On the other hand Mrs Yefimzeva reported on the system of the pharmacovigilance during the conduction of clinical and preclinical trials. The participants of the meting discussed the most acute and specific problems, existing in the respective sphere with the guest-speakers. During the final part of the meeting participants were informed that the next meeting will be held at the end of December 2009. 17 November 2009 EBA Tax Committee  On the meeting the Committee members discussed the answers of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the State Tax Administration of Ukraine to the EBA Report 2009 Overcoming Obstacles to Business Success. |
Also the election procedure for the Tax Committee Chair in 2010 was started with the presentations of the nominees. Moreover Committee members discussed the results of the Committee activity during the year 2009. 18 November 2009 EBA Mineral Wool Insulation Committee At the Meeting the participants have discussed the outcomes of the Round Table on Fiber Insulations and the position of the EBA Mineral Wool Insulation Committee regarding this event. Another topic for discussion was the further action plan for glass wool standard elaboration. 18 November 2009 EBA Marketing Committee  The EBA Kyiv-based office hosted another Marketing Committee meeting on 18 November 2009. The Committee participants were invited to discuss especially fascinating topic “Marking in fashion industry” and meet with experienced representatives of this industry.Honorable guest-speakers of this meeting were: Svetlana Zozulya, Fashion designer and image consultant, Elena Shevchenko, Owner of Lasto4ka, marketing & PR communication agency. Each guest-speaker performed in the format of interactive and interesting dialogue with audience, answering questions and sharing own outstanding experience. The concluding part of the meeting were presentations of the candidates for the position of the EBA Marketing Committee Chair. All candidatses had an opportunity to introduce themselves and talk about ideas for the future development of the Marketing committee. 19 November 2009 EBA Fuel and Energy Committee  On the meeting we discussed the Draft Law on the Basis of Natural Gas Market Functioning together with Mr. Volodymyr Saprykin, Director of the Energy Programmes of the Razumkov Centre. As the discussion was very active, the Committee members decided to postpone discussion of other agenda items to the next committee meeting.20 November 2009 EBA Regulatory Affairs Committee EBA Regulatory Affairs Committee meeting was held at the EBA office. At the meeting an overview of the results of the Committee’s activity in this year was made and priority goals for the upcoming 2010 year were discussed. |

| Civil Society Forum strengthens the Eastern Partnership More than 200 Civil Society representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, the EU Member States, international organizations and networks as well as third countries are gathering in Brussels on 16-17 November for the first Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. The Forum demonstrates the EU’s commitment to take on board the views and ideas of people of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries. The Forum will work on recommendations to EaP ministers who will be holding their first working meeting on 8th December, in particular on priorities for work next year in the EaP multilateral platforms. | 17 November 2009 Sayenko Kharenko secures merger clearance in Ukraine for the acquisition of control over Paris Re by Partner Re Sayenko Kharenko antitrust team assisted PartnerRe Ltd. ("Partner Re") and PARIS Re Holdings Limited ("Paris Re") in obtaining merger clearance of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (the "AMC") for acquisition of control by Partner Re over Paris Re in an all-stock deal valued at $ 2 billion. The AMC came to the conclusion that the implementation of the described transaction will not lead to monopolization or significant limitation of competition on any product market in Ukraine. On November 7, 2009, under this motto the A.B.C. Group of Companies, following its good tradition, held its next A.B.C. Open bowling tournament. The outbreak of seasonal flu in the country worried the tournament organizers, but a survey conducted among the participants showed the unanimous wish and readiness of the latter to play.
